Every November, our nation pauses to honor the men and women who have
served in uniform and we take the time to remember those who have stood
and continue to stand between fear and freedom. But beyond the parades
and ceremonies, Veterans Day invites us to see something sacred: service
that mirrors the very heart of God.

The Bible teaches us that giving honor is not just a social courtesy, it’s a
spiritual principle. In Romans 13:7, we are instructed to give to everyone what
we owe them, If respect, then respect and if honor, then honor.
When we honor veterans, we acknowledge their sacrifice, endurance, and
faithfulness. Many have served quietly, carrying memories that few will ever
understand. Yet God sees every moment, every mile, every tear, and every act
of courage. Let us never forget freedom is not free. It is preserved through the
faith and fortitude of those willing to serve.

Scripture often calls God’s people to be strong and courageous, words that
every veteran has lived out in the most literal way. That same courage is not
only for the battlefield but also for life after service. Veterans understand what
it means to serve a cause greater than themselves. In that way, their lives
reflect the greatest example of all — Jesus Christ, who gave His life for the
freedom of others.

May we pray for peace in our nation, healing for those wounded in body or
mind, and strength for families who have borne the weight of service. Let our
gratitude not end on Veterans Day, but live on in how we support, encourage,
and stand with those who have served.

Veterans Day is not just a day on the calendar but it’s a reminder of what
Jesus calls us all to be: servants, defenders, and peacemakers. “Blessed are
the peacemakers, for they shall be called the children of God.” – Matthew 5:9
To every veteran, we say THANK YOU!!

Thank you for your courage, your sacrifice, and your example. You remind us
of God’s faithfulness and of the power of service rooted in love.

May the Lord bless you, heal you, and grant you His perfect peace, today and
always.
