Thanksgiving is recognized as a time for gathering with family and loved ones, sharing meals, and expressing gratitude for living to see another Thanksgiving year.  However, Thanksgiving holds a spiritual biblical meaning.  It is also a moment to reflect, give thanks, and connect with someone greater than us.

Psalm 100:4 (NLT), ”Enter His gates with thanksgiving; go into His courts with praise.”

Verse 5) “For the Lord is good.  His unfailing love continues forever, and His faithfulness continues to each generation.”

Thanksgiving is the attitude required to enter God’s presence, preparing the heart for worship. In Bible times, the Temple had gates and courts used to approach God’s presence.  They would enter the gates, into the courts, towards the Holy Place, toward the Holy of Holies.

Thanksgiving and Praise were the required attitude for coming near to God. You don’t approach God by complaining, worrying, or demanding things.  Gratitude focus on God’s faithfulness, not your problems. Let’s grow into mature Believers who thank God before they see the results of their prayers.

1 Thessalonians 5:18, “In everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.”
