Its words are found in Matthew 6:9, 13 and Luke 11:2-4. The text recorded in Matthew 6:9-13 reads, “Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy Kingdom come. Thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil.”
The "Our Father” is a blueprint on how we should always approach God. We approach Him as our “Abba” our Father, who is our provider and sustainer in life. We are part of God’s family as Sons and Daughters. A good natural Father will keep his word and promises, helping us to trust him. How much more is our heavenly Father to be trusted with our hearts and our faith in Him. Asking for daily bread means we rely on His faithfulness in providing all our needs. Therefore, this prayer is an invitation towards having a Father/Child relationship with your heavenly Father. “For you didn’t receive the spirit of bondage again to fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption, by whom we cry, “Abba! Father!” Romans 8:15 (HNV)
