"It is useless for you to work so hard
    from early morning until late at night,
anxiously working for food to eat;
    for God gives rest to his loved ones." (Psalm 127:2) - NLT

Psalm 127:2 highlights the danger of:

  • constant busyness;
  • no time for each other;
  • no time for family; and,
  • no time for emotional intimacy.

Marriage thrives on:

  • peace;
  • rest;
  • quality time; and,
  • shared renewal.

This verse acts as a "warning" and a "reminder" that balance is just as spiritual as hard work. A healthy marriage requires rest, because God never intended a husband or wife to live in constant exhaustion. Rest is not optional, it is part of God's design for a strong, peacful marriage.
