JOY is a choice that strengthens the bond between husband and wife, even in the midst of life's challenges.

When couples intentionally choose to be joyful, celebrating small victories, laughing together, and expressing gratitude, they create an atmosphere of peace and unity in their relationship.

JOY shifts the focus from problems to possibilities, reminding each partner of the blessing they are to one another. A Joyful heart not only uplifts the marriage but also reflects a deeper sense of love, patience, and appreciation that keeps the relationship thriving.

Here are several scriptures on JOY to remind you both that joy is not just a feeling - it's a spiritual posture that nurtures love, strengthens unity, and brings life into a marriage. May you both be encouraged as you continue to enjoy one another.

All scriptures are taken from the New International Version.

  • Philippians 4:4 -  "Rejoice in the LORD always, I will say it again: Rejoice!" (Joy rooted in God strengthens relationships).
  • Proverbs 17:22 -  "A cheerful heart is good medicine, but a crushed spirit dries up the bones." (Joy brings life and healing into a marriage)
  • Romans 12:12 -  "Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer." (A foundation for enduring, joyful love).
  • 1 Thessalonians 5:16 -  "Rejoice always." (A powerful instruction for daily living together).
"Joy is not a feeling,
Joy is when God has revealed to you who Jesus is and,
What He has done, What He is doing and What He will do in your life!"

(Rev. Nathaniel Bullock, Jr.)
