Being kind in marriage means choosing to treat one another with gentleness, patience and care, even in the middle of busy days or difficult moments.

Kindness is shown in the way couples speak, listen, respond and consider each other's feelings. A kind word can soften tension, bring comfort, and remind your spouse that they are loved and valued.

When kindness becomes a daily practice in marriage, it strengthens trust, deepens connection, and creates an atmosphere where love can continue to grow.

Here are a few scriptures to encourage your daily marriage journey. All scriptures are taken from the New International Version (NIV).

  • Proverbs 11:17 - "Those who are kind benefit themselves, but the cruel bring ruin on themselves."
  • Colossians 3:12 - "Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience."
  • 1 Corinthians 13:4a - "Love is patient, love is kind."

It doesn't hurt to be kind to one another. If you haven't been kind in a while, try it today. It will be well worth your while.
